GETTING RID OF YELLOW TONE IN YOUR HAIR

I know this is a common problem for blonde girls but recently I have faced this problem myself. Changing my hair color from dark brown to hazel with blonde highlights, I recognized that my beautiful cool hair tone, which was perfectly done by my hairstylist, is now turning yellowish... Why? The first thing is the water. As you may know the water affects the color of your hair. In some parts of the world it's super clean and soft, and some parts... well, it could be better. And the second thing is the pigment in hair, which I obviously have gotten after coloring my hair with reddish undertones for more than two years.

So, in order to get rid of those yellow tones at home, I am using a special coloring cream by L'Oréal Professionnel Paris, which I leave in my hair for about 10-15 minutes.

How I do it:

Step 1: I wash my hair with shampoo (I like to use Kerastase Nutritive) once and at the second time I put shampoo, I use a much smaller dose, just to make them sleek, and I apply the anti-yellowing Color Corrector Blondes cream throughout my hair. On my hair length I apply it a half of my palm.

Tip - I suggest you use gloves for that otherwise you will have blue hands (you can wash them off, eventually, after several times... but I prefer to use the gloves).

Step 2: I then put on a shower cap (you can always use a small plastic bag if you don't have shower caps stolen from hotels...) and on top of that I wrap around a towel (better use dark colored towel). Personally I leave it in for 10-15 minutes. If you already have blonde hair and need just a bit to make them cooler, then leave it in for 5-7 minutes.

Step 3: After that I wash off the color corrector cream with warm water until the water is not blue anymore and then use a nourishing conditioner or a hair mask (I use Kerastase Nutritive), leave in for 3-5 minutes and then rinse off with warm water. For that shiny hair moment, rinse with cold water (after warm water).

And that's it! Three easy steps to get rid of yellow hair!

Here is the before and after version of my hair:

P.S. In real life the color of my hair differs a bit (before they were more yellow and after - more icy blonde). But I hope you still get the idea of how this works!

Have a great Friday everyone!
